Stairway To Heaven is a large tier 18 challenge obby beaten only by two players in its history. It is extremely large and unforgiving, consisting of near-impossible jumps with little-to-no catch zones, meaning if you fail you have to restart from the complete beginning. Stairway To Heaven was created in May of 2020 as a collaboration between esteemed members of the obby community @Undistanced, @kaan2005, @vipsem, @RoccoRocksU, @macalads, and @Regionality. While often contested, it is considered the hardest obby ever, or at least the hardest obby ever verified (beaten).

Gameplay

Featuring no checkpoints and little built-in catch zones, Stairway To Heaven does not hold back from its difficulty. It contains large amounts of tricky slopes, thin ladders and jumps, as well as gruelling head-hitters and thin and close squeezes to manoeuvre.

Players can use commands !practice and !hardcore to enter each mode respectively.

Design

The design of Stairway To Heaven intends an atmosphere of a soul climbing treacherously to heaven, with the obby having a matching minimal design comprised out of concrete and light and dark grays. The design of the obby never obscures any elements of the obstacle, as its difficulty comes purely from its parkour.

Victors

Since 2020, only two people have ever beaten and verified Stairway To Heaven. The first is @BoomSasok. The second is MonsterIsABlock. Both of these completions take place in 2025.

These completions have been verified by the creators of STH and both players have received one of the rarest badges in Roblox obby history, the 'Ascended' badge, only given manually to victors of Stairway To Heaven.

Trivia

The tier is often contested as between 18-21. The difficulty of an obby is largely subjective and depends on each person/player, but tier 18 is usually considered the hardest human-achievable tier. Depending on opinion, Stairway To Heaven is either a tier 18 or tier 21. The Obby Wiki considers tier 18 to be the highest, and therefore STH to be a tier 18.
A nerfed version (meaning modified to be easier) is available on Roblox as Stairway To Heaven Nerfed.
It took roughly 5 years after creation for anyone to seriously complete the obby, making it one of the longest periods an existing obby has gone unverified.
On April 1st, 2023, or April Fools Day, an obby content creator known as Skitsuna posted a joke video verifying the game.
In the game, players avatars are converted into a default Roblox R6 gray dummy avatar with no other appearance features but the default smiling face.
